Today's technology has changed a lot from back in the day. For example, most people would rather use a cellphone than a house phone even if they are at their houses. A lot of teenagers today would rather text anyway than call. Instead of people sending letters, they now right emails. Everything has changed, but I like it.

It's amazing how far technology has come along so far today's world. In the article I read the army has created a new video game to try and boost recruiting in some states. It's crazy because it's a real life game that give teenagers the feel of war. Times and techniques have changed greatly over the years. I think this is a crazy way for technology to help the army but apperently it's having an effect.

Madrigal, Alexis . "The Top 10 Green-Tech Breakthroughs of 2008." Wired Science. 2008. blog.wired. 30 Jan 2009 {http://blog.wired.com/wiredscience/2008/12/the-top-10-gree.html}.

I read an article on New(ish) Green Technologies. One of the topics it discussed was that scientists were trying to find a way to reduce the Carbon Dioxide in our atmosphere by putting it back into the ground. The only issue with this is that while putting it in the ground it can leak and there is the issue of finding a way to retrieve the CO2 out of the air to place underground. The point of the article was that a few scientists that have been working on this case have found a type of ZIFS and amines that may host the properties that can capture the CO2 from the air, which in turn can make catching the CO2 easier and more cost efficient, always a good thing.

The article I know was of the army making a virtual game for recruiting people in a mall in Philadelpia, Pennslyvania. They made a background to make it feel more real like a black hawk helicopter, a humvee, and a gunship. It looks like now technology is helping us with many things and still is adapting. I found this article at www.cnn.com.
What will happen in the future? We will soon find out. Mwhahahahahahahaha!

Electric ship designs are being researched and the U.S. Navy expects to have developed an all-electric ship by the year 2011. The idea is that the ship will use Integrated Power Systems which would allow almost all shipboard systems to be driven by electric power. This ship design could also be used for cruise ships, cargo ships, and many other big commercial ships. A superconductor motor generates the same amount of power as conventional motors but it is around 70% lighter and smaller. Therefore allowing annual fuel savings, additional cargo space, and for some ships it would allow room for around 20 more sleeping spaces.

Singer, Emily. "The Army's Remote-Controlled Beetle." Technology Review. 29 January 2009. Mit. 30 January 2009. {http://www.technologyreview.com/computing/22039/}.

This article was about a robot beetle. The beetle was created by scientists at the University of California. It is able to fly through the air and send visual feedback. The beetle is controlled by a nearby computer, it can hover, and turn right and left. In the article it also says that someday it could be used for rescue missions. I thought that was really neat, and it just shows how much technology has come along.

I read two pages on recent technology. The first was on technology that has been developed in the 21st century. Some of the things that have been invented include laptops that can go underwater, TV's on mirrors, "Smart" kitchens and hand held printers. These inventions cause today's society to be much easier and convenient. For example, a laptop that can go underwater can be used by a scuba diver surveying the wildlife under the water. Using the computer underwater can help the scuba diver record information immediately that might have otherwise been forgotten.
The other website I read was on inventions in the 20th century. The inventions in the 20th century more or less have influenced how we live today. Things such as the airplane, color photography, penicillin and the microwave oven were invented. Without these inventions/discoveries more people would be sick, travel would be more difficult and the quality of life might not be as good as it is today.
From very significant inventions or discoveries in science or simple ones that make life easier, the technology of the 20th century is all around us.

Hamilton, Tyler. "A Blended Battery Pack for Cars." Technology Review. 31 January 2009. {http://www.technologyreview.com/energy/22015/}.

The article I read was about combining different battery technologies to improve vehicle performance and reduce cost. It's almost like a switch that directs energy at any amount and at any direction. A car's motor can have different amounts of current and this can provide that. It can do it in different ratios as well. No matter the voltage of the power sources. There have been major advances in the technology of cars.

Technology has come a long way in the past 100 years. People used to not even have phones and now we have house phones and cellphones. We have computers. And we have phones that get on the internet. Alot of people today would rather text or email then acutally talk to the person. People rely so much on technology now a days. I would kind of like to see what people would do without cellphones and computers and internet. There has been so many changes with technology over the years.

The article i read was about the honda hybrid. They created it so that there would be less impact on the passengers in the car was in an accident. It also recyles energy that other cars with just waste when the car would brake. The engine also has an automatic turn off. So if you stop for a few minutes somewhere, it shuts off to save energy.

The Effects and Influences of Technology on Society and Human Kind." Scienceray. 31 July 2007. 31 Jan. 2009 http://www.scienceray.com/Technology/Applied-Science/The-Effects-and-Influences-of-Technology-on-Society-and-Human-Kind.114891.
Technology has always changed and progressed extremely fast. In many cases only few people could keep up with it. Such as the latest software for computers or the latest Ipods. However, others crave it. Like the people who go out and buy the newest things instead of having the old ones. Therefore in conclusion, many people just enjoy having technology changing extremely fast.

It is very cool to see how technology is becoming more advanced as time goes on. I read an article on how the Army uses remote controlled planes (Predators) to scan the enemy territory, find enemies and drop bombs on them using unmanned planes. Plus they are unable to be spotted on radar. So from ancient times to modern day times spy technology has become more advanced.

Peterson, Nancy. "Technology Changing Way Teens Think." K-State Research and Extension News 19 Nov2008 1 Feb 2009 http://www.oznet.ksu.edu/News/story/teens_think111908.aspx

Technology has improved a lot over the years. The changes in technology we have seen over the years is immense. The changes in technology has affected human life. Humans today are more advanced than they were in ancient times. Today's technology also affects how many people think, especially teenagers. There are both positive and negative effects of technology. Technology does help us with a lot of things. There are educational and recreational benefits from technology. Technology also helps us with communications around the world. Technology is also used to perform various jobs, such as forecasting the weather. However, it is important to remember the negative effects that can come from too much technology. The student use of too much technology is altering the developmental and educational process. Building vocabulary and interpersonal communications skills are also negatively affected by the use of too much technology. Teens who spend too many hours engaged in technology also develop feelings of isolation. The time spent on technology also takes away from healthy physical activity that we all need. While today's technology can be a good thing, it is important to learn how to balance the time you use technology. Too much of it can prove to be a bad thing.

The article I read was about useful websites. Technology has improved even more and now the internet can be used to send e-mails rather than letters, instant message people to have quick conversations, provide search engines for quick questions, educate people about politics and other news, entertain yourself, connect people through dating and chat sites, and much more.

Watkins, Thayer. "History of The Silk Road." 2 Feb 2009 http://www.sjsu.edu/faculty/watkins/silk.htm.

Its is interesting how much technology has changed over the years. Now we have cars instead of waggons and carts. We also have the internet instead of writing letters and just going to tell the other person yourself. We now have paved roads instead of just dirt and stone roads.

It's fascinating how technology changes over the years. Take for example the cell phone. We all know that the cell phone didn't exactly start out as a cell phone. That's what my article was about. It was about cell phones. There were only two-way radios which were known as mobile rigs. The mobile rigs were used only in vehicles though. In the 1940s Motorola developed the walkie-talkie which was also known as the backpacked two-way radio. The first actual mobile phone was called the Mobile Telephone system A. This was developed by Ericsson. That’s how the mobile phone, otherwise known as the cell phone, got started. Now we have touch screen cell phones. Some phones even have keyboards. Technology has really advanced throughout the years.

Hey Mrs. Halls see my internet stopped working as I was doing this so I wasn't able to find out how to do the MLA style bibliography for the internet. I got this information off of Wikipedia.

Technology I think can be both good and bad. I like being able to talk on the phone and look things up but I do like writing and receiving letters. It's more fun :) And I think that people rely too heavily on television and computers for entertainment and less on actual human interaction. Oh yea and can you say obesity? Exactly. Technology softens life I think. It imposes on people actually living to the fullest that they can. I did an article in my journalism class on pollution and their was this article about this car that runs on poop. Only now I can't find it. I think it was called the Viking..... 23? Something like that... But yea if you're are going to use technology (in this case a car) yea use one that runs on poop :D
